“Increase your children’s awareness of a space by making sounds in different parts of a room.”
Have your children sit on a mat or in a circle. Tell them to close their eyes and listen closely. When your child hears a sound and recognizes the instrument e.g. sound of a shaker, have them raise their hands and open their eyes to say what they think it is.
You can make different sounds in different areas of the room and ask them, with their eyes closed, to point to where they think the sound is coming from. This increases their awareness of a space. You can also ask them to listen to the sounds in their environment, inside or outside the house. This exercise increases your children’s sense of hearing and the acuteness of their child’s hearing.
